Wells market reopened on 10th June, after a complete review of layouts, traders and facilities was carried out, to meet the latest Government guidelines.  To help support Mendip's market traders and customers during Covid-19 restrictions, some of our regular traders are also able to offer an online service:

Wells markets logoThe Wells Market Place has been a focal point of the City over the ages and still is today with a twice weekly market. Always busy with a wide range of wonderful food stalls and artisan crafts.

By train - Castle Cary train station is 13 miles from Wells. Taxis are available at Castle Cary train station.

Local Car Parks 

Mendip District Council have made the decision to continue to offer free parking provisions in all Mendip District Council (MDC) owned car parks in support of local businesses and communities, for a further 8 week period until 6th August, at which point a further review by the Group Manager for Neighbourhood Services, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder will be completed.
