Council clear waste at Pomparles Bridge, Glastonbury

Mendip District Council has removed 3.5 tonnes of waste at Pomparles Bridge, Glastonbury, as part of their ongoing fly-tipping enforcement campaign.

The operation, which took place on Monday 6th January, took one and a half hours to clear the site.

Leader of Mendip District Council, Cllr Ros Wyke, said: "We are pleased to report that the waste has been removed, which is good news. However, we are working to find a long-term solution for this site."

The dumping of waste (fly tipping) and dropping of litter is illegal and both are punishable by a fine. Please use the online form on the Mendip District Council website to report dumped waste. Alternatively call 0300 303 8588 to make a report.
