Transparency Code

The Transparency Code was issued in 2014 to meet the Government's aspiration to place more power into citizens' hands to increase democratic accountability and make it easier for local people to contribute to the decision making process.

Mendip District Council are required to publish a number of defined data sets, containing a prescribed set of data fields, on either a quarterly or annual basis. Annual data will be published, where available, in financial year periods.  Wherever possible, data is published in a machine readable format (this will usually be a .csv file).

Data which is published under the Transparency Code will be kept online for at least 3 years.

Contracts Register

Mendip District Council are required by the Transparency Code to publish details of all contracts awarded by the council.

Grants to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Organisations

Mendip District Council is required to publish details of grants to voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations.

Local Authority Land

Mendip District Council is required to publish details of land and property assets that it owns.

Organisation Chart and Senior Salaries

Mendip District Council must publish an organisation chart and details of senior salaries.

Pay Multiple

Mendip District Council must publish details of the pay multiple as a ratio of the highest taxable earnings for the given year and the median earnings for the entire workforce.

Trade Union Facility Time

​​​​​​​Mendip District Council must publish details of trade union facility time.

Parking Account

Mendip District Council must publish on their website a breakdown of income and expenditure on the council's parking account.

Parking Spaces

Mendip District Council must publish details of the number of marked out, controlled on and off-street parking spaces within their area.

Fraud

Mendip District Council is required to publish details of the use of its powers in preventing and prosecuting fraud.
