Mendip District Council has access to the language line service providing professional, qualified interpreters in over 100 different languages.

Instant Telephone Interpreting
The council has instant access to the translation service via telephone for those customers that are visiting the council offices or one of our Council Information Points.
Customers are encouraged to point to their chosen language using the posters that are displayed in the offices. If the customer does not recognise any of the languages displayed on the poster, the call centre operators will assist us.
The council can also book the interpretation services so that a person is present at the time of visit, interview or meeting. This service can also be booked for British Sign Language interpreting.
