Street and Glastonbury markets close

Mendip District Council has suspended the weekly markets in Street and Glastonbury until further notice. The decision was taken due to the unavailability of traders to create a food-only market.

The Council is working closely with stall-holders across the district to support them during this difficult time, and would like to apologise to the public for any inconvenience caused.

Street Market normally operates on Thursdays, and Glastonbury trades on Tuesdays. Both markets will be relaunched as soon as the current situation changes.

Markets in Wells, Frome and Shepton Mallet are still scheduled to take place delivering food and essential items only in line with Government guidance.
