COVID-19: Safe workplaces
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has previously issued guidance for employers on making workplaces COVID secure. The latest guidance covers eight workplace settings, construction and other outdoor work, factories, plants and warehouses, other people's homes, labs and research facilities, offices and contact centres, restaurants offering takeaway or delivery, shops and branches and vehicles.
You must not reopen if your business is closed under current government rules.
Employers can now also access a number of free webinars addressing the challenges in different types of workplaces. These have been developed with input from HSE and so may be useful for Local Authorities in both their employer and regulator role.
On the HSE website employers can also find a short guide to working safely, a guide on talking with your workers about preventing coronavirus and further information on managing risks and risk assessment at work.
