Mendip District Council operates and runs its own stall market service.
COVID-19 update, 23rd June 2020:
Mendip's weekly markets reopened in June 2020, after a complete review of layouts, traders and facilities was carried out, to meet the latest Government guidelines.
- Frome Wednesday Market returned on 24th June, 9am to 2pm in the Cattle Market Car Park and Boyle Cross.
- Street Thursday Market returned on 25th June, 9am to 2pm in the High Street.
- Shepton Mallet Friday Market returned on 26th June, 9am to 2pm in the Market Place.
- Glastonbury Tuesday Market returned on 30th June, 9am to 2pm in its temporary new home in St Dunstan's Car Park, Magdalene Street.
To help support Mendip's market traders during Covid-19 restrictions, some of our regular traders are able to offer an online service:
Mendip's Stall Markets
We operate and manage seven weekly stall markets in the Mendip towns. These markets sell Somerset produce, food and drink, crafts and a range of general items. In addition, a Christmas market takes place in Wells leading up to the festive season.
New Market Traders
Please visit our New Market Traders if you would like to register your interest in having a stall at one of our markets.
Mendip District Council have the sole right to hold a market within the district. We do allow other markets to take place and ask that you contact the Events Team to find out if you need to apply for permission to hold a market.
