Mendip District Council operates and runs its own stall market service.

COVID-19 update 12th April 2021: 

Our Mendip Markets will reinstate its full range of goods as pandemic restrictions ease from 12 April, allowing traders to once again sell non-essential provisions, as well as essential goods, for the first time in months.

When visiting a market, please ensure you regularly wash your hands, wear a face coverings and make space, to stop the spread of the disease.

  • Tuesday: Glastonbury Market 9am-3pm
  • Wednesday: Frome Market and Wells Market 9am-3pm
  • Thursday: Street Market 9am-3pm
  • Friday: Shepton Mallet Market 9am-2pm
  • Saturday: Frome Market and Wells Market 9am-3pm

Mendip's Stall Markets 

We operate and manage seven weekly stall markets in the Mendip towns. These markets sell Somerset produce, food and drink, crafts and a range of general items. Mendip Markets logo In addition, a Christmas market takes place in Wells leading up to the festive season.

Market Rights

Mendip District Council have the sole right to hold a market within the district. We do allow other markets to take place and ask that you contact the Events Team to find out if you need to apply for permission to hold a market.
