Starting a business is no easy task - these pages aim to provide you with the information you need to turn your idea into a reality by directing you to some helpful resources available to you. Mendip is a great place to start and grow - with high survivorship rates and a high quality of life, it's no surprise that we're home to over 4,000 businesses.

Enterprise Mendip is an initiative, developed in partnership between Mendip District Council, Strode College and the Mendip Chambers of Commerce at Frome, Shepton Mallet, Street (with Glastonbury) and Wells to stimulate and support entrepreneurship in Mendip.

Free training

Enterprise Mendip offers various types of business support across the District. This includes hosting workshops, drop in sessions, training programmes, networking sessions as well as working with local partners to bring their services to our businesses. Starting a business

Growing a business

Businesses who want to expand and grow need access to information about new markets, industry innovations, growth and equity finance. The partnership aims to help expanding businesses to access support and grow their business in Mendip.  Your local Chamber of Commerce can provide excellent networking opportunities, idea and advice forums and local market information and contacts.
