This grant replaces the Local Restrictions Support Grants which were awarded to registered business-rate payers up to 31.3.2021.

If you previously claimed a LRSG grant, you will receive an email from with a new form by Friday 10 April. Please note this is not a deadline for applications.

Please check your spam inbox if you do not receive a message by this date.

The new form will collect additional mandatory information now required by Government to conduct additional fraud and security checks and to improve national reporting.

There is a new requirement to complete these additional checks prior to payment of grants.  Please do not request progress updates as this may slow the processing of all applications.

If you have not previously claimed a LRSG grant a full new application form will be available shortly.

If you are ineligible to claim Restart Grant, you may still apply for a discretionary grant if you are a non-rate payer (e.g. B&B paying Council tax) or have been severely impacted by Covid closures.  Please see the section on Additional Restrictions Grants.

Additional Restrictions Grant - Round 3 - Applications deadline Thursday 15 April at midnight

Local Authorities have been provided with discretionary funds to provide further support to businesses. Non-business rate payers legally obliged to close their business; and rate payers who have not been legally obliged to close but have been severely impacted can apply.

The first grant funding round closed on 18 December 2020 and Round 2 funding closed on 19 February 2021.

Round 3 will be open for applicants who have not yet received either discretionary or Local Restrictions Grant funding in 2021.

Round 2 grant recipients will receive a further email communication by Sunday 28 March regarding pre-approved top-up funding arrangements, if eligible. (Please check spam inbox)  Round 2 recipients should not reapply for Round 3. This will allow new assessments to be completed faster.

Future funding will be available following Round 3 which will prioritise support for those sectors with a later reopening date according to the Government roadmap, and who are ineligible to claim funds (e.g. non-business rate payers) under the new Government Restart Grant scheme
