Additional Restrictions Grants (ARG) Round 2

The Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) is a discretionary grant scheme to help those businesses not legally forced to close but severely impacted by local restrictions.

Applications closed at 9am on Friday 19 February 2021.

Businesses who receive a main National Lockdown grant will not be allowed to receive a discretionary grant as well at this time.   The majority of grant awards for businesses with fixed premises/lease/equipment costs will start from £3000 for the majority of claimants, to a maximum of £9000.

In certain instances where claimants cannot meet the required points threshold but is in an industry facing with severe impacts, a smaller grant may be awarded at the Council's discretion.

These grants will principally support medium, small and micro enterprises with fixed costs, such as rent, business rates, lease of vehicles or machinery.  This is aimed at non-rate paying businesses which have been legally required to close.

Other businesses who have been severely impacted and can demonstrate losses may also apply, and applications are particularly encouraged from rate payers who mainly supply businesses legally required to close.
