In partnership with Somerset County Council and Somerset Independence Plus, we provide a range of services to help our residents live safely and independently in their homes.
Grants and loans to make your home safer and fund disabled adaptations are available from the Council. Visit our Financial Assistance page to find out what is available.
Energy advice is available from the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE). Contact the Home Energy Team on 0800 082 2234 or visit their website for expert advice to help you stay warm in your home and save on fuel costs. Independence Advice Centre (IAC) - professional staff are available to discuss what you need, help you try equipment to see what suits you, give you options and help you to live safely and independently in your home. Somerset Independence Plus (SIP) are our home improvement agency, who manage our disabled facilitates grants and can help you to make the home improvements you need. SIP provide a range of services including Independent Living Officers who can visit you in your home, carryout a home safety check, help you access financial assistance and put you in touch with services that are right for you. Sedgemoor lifeline is a local community alarm service covering the Mendip and wider Somerset area. The Lifeline is a two-way speech system linked to an emergency control room. The unit is simply plugged into your existing telephone line and a personal lightweight alarm button is worn as a pendant around your neck or as a wrist band which can easily be activated if you need assistance.
