Climate Emergency

In February 2019, Mendip District Council declared a Climate and Ecological Emergency - pledging to make best endeavours to enable the district to be carbon neutral by 2030.

Mendip's Climate and Ecological Emergency Group was formed in the summer of last year and are responsible for the delivery of climate emergency objectives across the Council and District. A series of actions were identified, which included the appointment of a dedicated Officer, responsible for enabling the delivery of these actions and taking forward the mission of the Council's carbon neutral pledge.
