Action stations: Council reminds residents to check polling venues before big day

Mendip District Council is urging people to check their polling cards carefully, as their normal polling stations may not be operating this time around.

Polling Station SignDue to the short-notice nature of the Election, and its closeness to Christmas, some alternative venues needed to be found. Only a very small number of places are affected however.

The polling station which voters should attend is clearly printed on their polling cards, which all eligible voters should have received, or will be receiving, by post.

Full listings of polling stations across the region have also been published online on Mendip District Council's website, to help minimise any Election Day confusion on Thursday, 12th December.

If you are unable to vote in person at a polling station on the day, you still have time to apply for a proxy vote. The deadline for receiving new applications to vote by proxy (not postal proxy or emergency proxies) is Wednesday, 4th December at 5pm.
