6 SOMERSET WASTE AUTHORITY ANNUAL REPORT AND DRAFT BUSINESS PLAN 2020-2025
This report seeks a decision from the Cabinet on the Somerset Waste Partnership's Draft Business Plan 2020-2025. It also seeks approval of the draft budget for 2020/21 and the proposed revisions to the Waste Partnership's Inter Authority Agreement.
7 NEW CORPORATE AIM AND PRIORITIES
The Leader of the Council invited Members to provide feedback on the draft Aim and Priorities.This report summarises the feedback received and the proposed responses to it and presents for Cabinet approval and recommendation to Full Council a final draft of the Corporate Aim and Priorities.
8 THE FUTURE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN SOMERSET
The Leader of Somerset County Council has stated that he wishes to pursue the option of a single Unitary Council for Somerset. This Report sets out the work conducted to date, looking at the options for the future of local government in Somerset, and suggests an option of further collaboration and integration as being the preferred option moving forward.
9 WELLS RECREATION GROUND AND BISHOP'S BARN
The Council has been the sole Trustee of the Wells Recreation Ground Trust since 1974 which means that it is responsible for the management, maintenance and development of the Wells Recreation Ground and the Bishop's Barn. The Council understands the high value of these assets to the community and recognises the desire for their management to be returned to the people of Wells.
10 MENDIP DISTRICT COUNCIL CLIMATE EMERGENCY - REPORT ON BASELINE EVIDENCE
This report is for noting only. The objective of the report is to analyse Mendip District's carbon footprint and identify key sources of emissions and priorities for action.
11 ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING SOLUTIONS
It is recognised that the way in which our residents and visitors travel within and through our district is changing. The changes to national positions on Electric Vehicles require Mendip District Council (MDC) to consider its infrastructure to support and maximise on this change.
