Due to the ongoing pandemic Mendip District Council is continuing to adopt a safety first approach to their public meetings. If you do wish to physically attend a meeting as a member of the public you must contact Democratic Services at DemocraticServices@mendip.gov.uk to register your attendance. This is so that the available capacity can be monitored and, if necessary, access carefully controlled. If you do not register your intention to attend in this way, you may not be able to physically access the meeting. Anyone wishing to attend who experiences any COVID symptoms should must not come to the meeting, but can continue to observe the proceedings online.

10  APPOINTMENT OF THE COUNCIL'S INDEPENDENT PERSON
The Localism Act 2011 requires the Council to appoint at least one Independent Person whose views will be sought when making decisions about allegations that Councillors have breached the Council's Code of Conduct.

11 PROPOSED ADOPTION OF THE NEW SOMERSET CODE AS THE MEMBER'S CODE OF CONDUCT
It is recommended that the Council adopt the LGA Model Code with local variation (Somerset Code of Conduct) as set out in this report as the Mendip District Council Code of Conduct for Elected Members.

"Can the council please explain: why caravans that are totally unfit for habitation are being allowed to be abandoned and rented out at various sites in Glastonbury; how the council, housing and enforcement officers and the legal system currently responds to how it may be resolved.
