Discretionary Rate Relief

We are able to consider awarding additional relief to certain types of businesses, through a scheme known as Discretionary Rate Relief.

Businesses the Council may provide further support for are: Charities; Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASC's); Non-Profit Making Organisations and certain public houses, villages shops and petrol stations in Rural Areas.  In addition, the Council is also able to consider awarding discretionary relief to certain businesses who are suffering hardship.

The Government announced in the 2017 budget that there should be a new discretionary relief to help those most affected by the 2017 revaluation. We are waiting for information and funding details from the Government. If you do not qualify for relief under one of our existing schemes, please do not claim at this stage. We will announce more information once it is available. Please contact out NNDR office if you want to discuss what help is available and for making any payment arrangements.

To apply for relief please click 'apply for this service' below. We prefer to receive online applications, however downloadable versions of our online forms are available under documents.
