Mendip District Council has 24 Conservative, 21 Liberal Democrat and two Independent Conservative Councillor.

Harvey Siggs is Council Leader, with Nigel Woollcombe-Adams as Deputy Leader. Edward James is Chairman of the Council, with Roy MacKenzie as Vice Chairman.
