Council Access Points
Our 5 Council Access Points (CAPs) are providers of advice and information on any matter concerning Mendip District Council, Somerset County Council or Town/Parish services. Each office is stocked with information leaflets and forms can be issued or downloaded from the relevant website.
Please note the Council Access Points will open at 11.00am on the first Wednesday of each month, for training.

What sort of information can they provide?
CAPs provide a face to face, single point of contact for the general public on a variety of topics including:-
- Who is my local Town, District and or County Councillor?
- What can I do about a noisy neighbour?
- Where can I obtain a list of local childminders and playgroups?
- How can I get on the Housing Needs Register?
- How do I fill in a Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit form?
- How do I obtain a bus pass?
- Arrange for planning applications to be available for you to view at the CAP.
The CAP staff have a knowledge of all Council matters and will be able to answer your questions, contact a third party to gain information for you or advise you on how to progress your enquiry.
