Bulky waste collection

The Somerset Waste Partnership operates a bulky waste collection service for household items.

There is a charge of £41 for up to three items and then £11 for each extra item payable prior to collection. No more than five items can be collected per visit.

The service allows the collection of fridges/freezers, cookers, tables, chairs, three-piece suites, beds, wardrobes and other similar items. Items such as rubble/radiators/kitchen cupboards are classified as builder's waste and will therefore not be collected.

All Bulky waste collections should be left outside the property from the night before as collections commence from 7:30am. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an estimated time of collection however if the items are placed outside we do not require the resident to be at home.

You should:

  • tape an X over glass surfaces
  • bundle pieces together if you take items apart
  • protect items such as fabric sofas and mattresses in case of rain

If there are steps or access issues to the property a risk assessment will be carried out when attempting to collect.  If the risk assessment deems the collection to be dangerous, collection will not be carried out.  A full refund will be made if no items are removed from the property.

Collection day is a Tuesday.

Arrangements made Monday - collection will be a week Tuesday
Arrangements made Tuesday - collection will be a week today
