Ballot Box

A total of 427people voted in the referendum - a turnout of 49.2% of the total electorate of 868. The number of votes cast was 341 in favour and 86 against. There were no spoilt ballot papers.

Voters were asked the question: "Do you want Mendip District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Rode to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

The Rode Neighbourhood Plan was prepared by Rode Parish Council in consultation with residents and community organisations in the town and includes policies on housing, design and a number of area-specific policies for sites in Rode.

It will now be formally 'made' by Mendip District Council and become part of the development plan used in decision making and future planning for Rode.
