Blue Badges

A Blue Badge is to help the Holder to park close to their destination, either as a passenger or driver.

Due to the increasing number of Blue Badge holders, designated spaces tend to fill up quickly, therefore, Blue Badge holders may park free of charge in any marked bay (except Greenbank Pool, Residents Only & Service Yard areas). All major car parks have designated disabled bays. Please see the tariff boards in the car parks for any time restrictions and additional requirements that apply.

Applying for a Blue Badge

Please visit the Somerset County Council website for details on how to apply and how to renew your badge.

Displaying your Blue Badge

  • The Blue Badge holder must display the badge in a prominent position at the front of the vehicle showing the expiry date.
  • Failure to comply with this regulation may result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.

When using car parks with a time restriction on them, Blue Badge holders are required to display the clock part of their badge as well. Please see tariff board in each car park for specific instructions.

Penalties

Failure to comply with these conditions will result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.
