    How long will the Registration last?

    A:

    The Registration lasts as long as you work in the premises where you are registered. You do not have to renew the Registration, but you will have to apply again if you want to work at another premises.

    Where can I get help if I am thinking of applying for a Registration for the first time?

    A:

    Please contact us for advice if you are thinking of starting a business involving skin piercing within the Mendip District Council area for the first time. You will find the Mendip District Council Byelaws helpful to give you an idea of the standards we expect to find at premises.

  • Q:

    What will happen when I make an application?

    A:

    When we receive an application form we will arrange for a Health and Safety Inspector to contact you so they can inspect your premises. The inspector will: •check compliance with the byelaw requirements and •ensure general health and safety requirements are being met.

    How long will it take?

    A:

    It usually takes a minimum of 30 days for us to process your application.

  • Q:

    Can I work on a mobile basis?

    A:

    Providing you are registered at premises within the Mendip District Council area you can occasionally work on a mobile basis providing you have good hygiene controls in place.

  • Q:

    How can I make a Consumer Complaint?

    A:

    Please contact us if you wish to make a complaint about someone carrying out skin piercing activities. You should also contact us if you suspect someone is carrying out skin piercing without the appropriate registrations. If a person is registered with us their certificate should be on display.
