Archived 2005 - 2009 Community Strategy

Prepared through the Mendip Strategic Partnership, the Community Strategy aims to encourage cross-agency working for the benefit of the local community.

The Mendip Strategic Partnership is Mendip's local strategic partnership (LSP), a non-statutory, non-executive organisation that brings together at a local level the different parts of the public sector as well as the private, business, community and voluntary sectors. In this way different initiatives and services support each other and work together.

The Community Strategy for Mendip sets out a long term vision for how the district will be by 2021:

By 2021 Mendip will be a thriving, just and sustainable place to live in, work in and visit.

The strategy has eleven long term themes, and five shorter term priorities listed below. For each theme there are a number of long term aims that will achieve the vision. The themes and priorities have been chosen based on community views and an analysis of local needs.
