Housing Options Team - How to Access the Service in Person

Everyone is welcome to visit the Housing Options Team at the Mendip District Council offices in Shepton Mallet.

We operate a 'drop in' service to anyone wishing to discuss their housing situation or for general housing advice. The drop in service runs every weekday between 8:30am and 4:45pm, during this time both a Housing Options Administrator and a Housing Options Officer is available for consultation.

For those without internet access and wishing to submit an online application for Social Housing, we have two computers available for use in our Reception area.

Mendip District Council operates five Council Information Points (CIPs) throughout the Mendip area. People are able to approach the CIPs for assistance in completing their application form. The CIP staff are also able to provide assistance for those people who have an active application and wish to inform us of a change in their circumstances, such as the birth of a new baby or removing someone from their application. People can also approach the CIPs in order to speak to a member of our team via the telephone and the CIP staff are also able to refer eligible people to the YMCA's MEAG and Move-One schemes.
