Glastonbury

Chalice Well

Glastonbury is well known not only for its connections with the history of Christianity and the majestic ruins of its Abbey but also for its association with the legend of King Arthur, who, along with his wife Guinevere, is reputed to be buried in the Abbey grounds.

In Glastonbury, history, myth and legend combine in such a way that most visitors cannot fail to sense the powerful ambience of the town, which is now internationally renowned as centre for New Age culture and spiritual healing. Major attractions include the Tor (a striking local landmark and viewpoint), the Somerset Rural Life Museum, the Lake Village Museum at the Tribunal, and the Chalice Well and Gardens.
